Hi,

Finally, I made it! I finished the dress for KCW just in time. I’m so happy with the result, the dress is dreamy, flowy, and most of all.. I made it for KCW April 2014 and for O’s birthday next month. It’s like kill two birds with one stone! (I never want to kill a bird, ever haha)

Kids Clothes Week

Hi,

This is the first day of KCW April 2014, and it’s also my first time joining Kids Clothes Week. I already wash up the fabric, printing the pattern, but not yet taping them out. I was going to do it today, but I promised J to take her to inside mall playground, Chipmunks, at Kota Kasablanka Mall. And a day is over just like that. But at least I already pick and wash the fabric, printing the pattern size 6T and 3T. I hope the kids sleep early today so I can tape the pattern tonight.

I choose Geranium Dress pattern from Made by Rae, and because I intended to make the dresses for O birthday in May, which theme is Minnie Mouse, red polkadot is my choice of fabric.

KCW has a mini me theme, I’m thinking to make Washi dress or Washi top for myself, but 3 projects in a week is too crazy. Let’s see, finger crossed!

Maggie Mae Tunic in Batik

Here is another clothing that I made using Maggie Mae Tunic/Dress pattern. I really love this pattern, I can mix match my fabric stash since I’m a fabric hoarder, no… I’m anything hoarder from fabric, pattern, yarn, nail polish, and I love to read too, so… Gosh! Once again I choose Batik as my choice of fabric.

Maggie Mae Dress in Batik

Hi,

I made this dress only in a day, well.. make it 2 days because I need to bring it to a market to have it serge. I don’t have any serger yet. I made it for my daughter’s friend whose having a birthday yesterday. Both fabric that I use are batiks. I love batik so much. Indonesia has lots of batik patterns and ikat patterns from many places across the country. I think almost all provinces or even cities has it’s own style of batik pattern or ikat pattern.

Pattern is Maggie Mae Dress/Tunic from Shwin Designs.

Sewing Corner

securedownload

Hi,

When I first started this blog, I promise myself to post at least once a week, but here I am, missing the whole month without any post *sigh*, but … I will try to share what I have been doing this past few weeks. First, because I’m thinking to start earning money from sewing, I need my own sewing space. Since J born I moved my sewing machine to the basement and use our dinner table whenever I want to sew. So last month I gather all supplies I need for my sewing corner, yup, I only need a corner, of course I want my own sewing room, maybe someday… and use my old computer table as my sewing machine. I went to Informa to buy some wood panels, refolding my fabric stash, and here it is.. It’s not finish yet, but now I’m in the middle of sewing projects, I’ll get back to organizing my sewing corner again.

Rapunzel Birthday Theme

Hi,

Once again, this is not a recent project, I made this Rapunzel dress a year ago for J’s 4th birthday, at that moment she’s crazy about Rapunzel. She once scared me to death because out of thin air she has an idea of using long fabric as a substitute to Rapunzel’s long hair, she tied the fabric to the 2nd floor railing and thinking to jump with it, GOSH!!

Anyway, she got fever for 3 days, and got to hospitalized for a night, and she got home on her birthday date, but I managed to prepare a simple celebration at home. Just me, J and her dad. O was with my mom, sigh.. I lost like 3kgs in just a few days.

I’m very happy with the Rapunzel dress, the fabric is easy to sew, unlike the satin fabric that I use for the frozen theme. I also made her Rapunzel hair.

Here are the photos from year ago, sorry for the bad quality.

Knit Dress

Hi,

Today I want to show you all a knit dress that I made back in 2008. I was pregnant with J, my first born, oh those times when I had a lot of free time on my own, that I managed to produce some handmade stuffs. J wore the dress when she was about 5 to 6 months old, and because O is not as chubby as J, she can still wear it until now, she’s almost 22 months old now, the dress is a kinda too short, I think she has to wear a legging or a cute capri pant (a-ha another project in mind!).

Just a note, i can’t sew for a temporary time because i have to organize my new sewing corner. I will post about it later, but for now i have to pend my recent projects and post some of my old favorite projects that I have made.

Pattern: Sweet Baby Knits from Let’s Knit Series . Yarn: DMC Senso 100%cotton

Lemon and Mint Infused Water

In a hot day like today, all i can think is to drink something fresh and cold. I saw this drink everywhere whenever i browse for some healthy recipes, and this one is perfect, even for the kids, they can help pluck the leaves and put the lemon and mint into the bottle. It tastes better if you leave it overnight in a fridge, but you can just wait 30 minutes and enjoy.

Looking for something to do in a hot noon with kids involved? this one will do, it’s easy to make, fresh and healthy!

Frozen Birthday Theme

My daughter J is crazy for Frozen, it’s Frozen Fever among little girls! After watching the movie, she keeps talking about it, especially Queen Elsa, she loves to sing the theme songs, even her lil’ sis O, she’s able to sing to those songs too, in her age way of course.

So for J’s 5th birthday, she’s asking for Queen Elsa’s dress. I decided to use sequin fabric and satin fabric, I almost cry when I sew it, it’s new experience for me and I have to sew when the kids are napping at the same time, yup.. that’s not happened everyday, some day they both can nap at the same time, but some other day they just don’t. Anyway, for J’s birthday party, I asked Leonie Cakes to make Frozen theme Cake. For morning celebration at home I ordered Elsa birthday cake from @farfalladessertland, I also decor my dining corner with Frozen theme fabric that I bought from weiselect on Etsy.
